Digitalisation solution for cheese dairy

  • 2025

Our digitalisation solution for cheese dairies is an application that has been developed to maximise efficiency, quality and planning accuracy in cheese production. The application is based on the iDIP platform and can be operated both in the cloud and locally. By integrating various data silos, such as production control, cyclical documentation of quality assurance work, milk tour data, quality parameters and laboratory results from internal and external sources, our application offers a comprehensive solution to the challenges of modern cheese production.

Production control: Our solution enables modern production control in which data is recorded using tablets. This makes it much easier to document and monitor production processes. Employees can enter and update data directly on site, which improves the accuracy and efficiency of production control. In addition, employees are guided through the entire process to ensure that all necessary steps are carried out correctly and completely.

Test equipment inspection: To ensure measurement accuracy, pH meters and temperature sensors, for example, are checked regularly. Test results are recorded digitally on a tablet, time-stamped and archived in a traceable manner.

Traceability: Our solution enables fast and precise tracing of production data. With just a few mouse clicks, you get an overview of the origin of the milk, the batch data of the production control and the laboratory data of the delivered product.

Supplier evaluation: The integration of laboratory results enables efficient supplier evaluation. Each supplier receives an assessment based on data that can originate from different laboratories. This enables continuous monitoring of raw material quality.

Production planning: Our solution includes integrated production planning that enables cheese dairies to precisely plan and optimise their production processes. Communication between production managers and production staff is improved in multi-shift operations.

Laboratory: Our solution also includes the recording of laboratory data, including the follow-up workflow. In the event of poor results, SMS messages with the laboratory values are automatically sent to the suppliers. If the follow-up check is successful and the results are good again, a notification is also sent.

Quality management: By digitising the paper-based process and consolidating all data, the time required to evaluate quality data can be massively reduced to just a few minutes. This enables comprehensive quality management, which cheese dairies can use to continuously monitor and improve the quality of their products. Potential problems can be recognised and rectified at an early stage to ensure consistently high product quality. The time saved reduces quality costs. The solution fulfils the requirements of external audits.

Target group: Our digitalisation solution is aimed at cheese dairies of all sizes that want to optimise their production processes and maintain an overview of their various products. From small cheese dairies to large industrial operations, our solution offers scalable functions that meet the specific requirements and needs of different customers.

Conclusion: Our digitalisation solution for cheese dairies offers a comprehensive answer to the challenges of modern cheese production. By integrating various data silos on the iDIP platform and implementing production planning, we enable cheese dairies to increase their efficiency, reduce quality costs and strengthen their competitiveness. With our solution, cheese dairies can take full advantage of the opportunities offered by digitalisation.
